The art of wine in Pays du Brive

The Coteaux de la Vézère vineyard only extends across the villages of Allassac, Donzenac and Voutezac, twenty or so minutes from Brive-la-Gaillarde. The heritage and landscape of Pays de Brive have been shaped by viticulture through the centuries.
The villages and houses of winegrowers, terraced slopes (La Bontat terraces in Voutezac) and the vine huts with slate roofs, once a resting place or used for tool storage, in the middle of the vines attest to this. Voutezac has a hundred or so of these vine huts that continue to be recorded and preserved today.
You are more than welcome to visit the winery. It is in a wonderful building, a former farm typical of Corrèze. Come and see the wealth of our terroir in full. This is an opportunity to meet winegrowers from our winery who will share its history with you. Located at Le Saillant d’Allassac, our winery is open, from Monday to Thursday from 9am to 12pm and from 2pm to 6pm, Fridays from 9am to 12pm and from 2pm to 5pm. We are also open on Saturdays during the peak season, public or school holidays.

The Vézère Valley

The Vézère is a river that flows into the Dordogne. Called the Vallée de l’Homme in Périgord due to the numerous prehistoric sites in its cliffs (including the famous Lascaux Cave), the Vézère Valley is a classified Natura 2000 site in Corrèze with exceptional flora and fauna.

The Secret of Le Saillant

There is an outstanding hidden art treasure in the small church in Le Saillant de Voutezac: stained-glass windows by the artist Marc Chagall that were commissioned at the end of the 1970s. One of these stained-glass windows (called ‘Creation’), a bright blue, inspired the label of our sweet wine, Orbaciac, a ‘creation’ of another kind from our winery.

Picturesque villages

Each road, winding its way through green countryside, is a road to discovery leading to a typical landscape or picturesque village: Uzerche and Donzenac are the closest to our vineyard…
